In the book "The Bluest eye" the characters Pauline, Pecola and Cholly are searching for love. But I want to ask what is love for YOU? What should it contains? In my opinion love is really special and personal. There is a kind of love which the love to your mom, dad, sister etc. The other one is the love to your boy-, girlfriend. Additionally love contains respect, compassion apprehension to lose, sacrifies and honesty. The lover afraids to touch because the affraid of hurting your loved one. It is not enough to define it but I want to mention the aspects of love contraverselly the understand of Cholly's love. There is no excuse Cholly's action. He raped his daughter twice and impregnant her also takes her virginity. What kind of love is that? I am really confused. I am also sad for Cholly because as Claudia mentioned in the book he is dangerously free. He felt so unworthy actually felt nothing even love or hate. So he doesn't knoe the love between dad and daughter or son so Cholly can't understand the love of the child and touched his Pecola. Cholly touched her and harm her but he cannot comprehend that.
We made our seminar presentation about the book " The Bluest Eye". Our theme was The Great Depression, Morrison's style and search for love of the characters Cholly, Pauline and Pecola. The writer's style is very impressive she uses metaphors, similes and imageries for explaining and transmitting the story to her readers. She used mostly the metaphor of seed, which means individuals, Pecola's womb etc. I really liked this writing style. There are many metaphors in the book like "earth" and "black dirt" but one of the metaphor was really make me think about it "martyrdom". Mrs. Breedlove goes regularly to Church she is a Church women type. On the other hand her husband Cholly is an alcholic and made mad things in his past ( still does anyway). Mrs. Breedlove thinks that she can save Cholly from hell with her help for quitting alcohol or make his life ordered. If he stops drinking then she wouldn't have any purpose in her life. She wants to be an "idol" humanbeing for God and Jesus so when Choll is a good person than she won't have any aim for cozy up Jesus. I think about that if my husband were Cholly what will I do? Am I help him for my religous belief? I really don't know that but I am sure about that I don't want such a partner.
